how to use sizzlet dies?
I just bought a ZipeMate Die Cutter by by Accucut. Reading the pamphlet that came with it says to use release foam over the blades of a new die the first time. What is release foam? It shows them using a metal die so not sure if I need to do this with the little Sizzlet dies I purchased. The Sizzlet dies I got are gray foam on one side. Where are the die blades they talk about. Assuming these don't need the release foam? I am confused and don't want to try it till I know what I am doing! Thanks for any information.
Sizzix's sizzlet do not have the release foam. Quickutz does and I am not sure about your thin dies for Zipemate. Quickutz thin dies come with a thin white foam square, you stick it on the die and run it through the machine without paper first. You do not have to do this with a Sizzlet.
I have been scrapbooking for years. If you can take the Zipemate back I would. The new Sizzix machine the Big Kick will handle All Die cuts. I have used dies from Zipemate, Cuttlebug, Quickutz and other brands. You can cut thick dies, thin dies and the new 12" dies in it. I have cut through balsa wood, metal, fabric, vellum and heavy weight card stock. It is the most versatile Die Cutting Machine out there.
