More Great Scrapbook Ideas and Solutions

Here are some great Scrap Booking ideas and solutions for using that Dymo Labeler for your scrapbook layouts.

We have all used a Dymo Labeler at some time in our lives to make labels for our lunch tins, pens, pencil bags and other things we may not have wanted to go missing during our school days. These are rather boring little labels done on blue, red, yellow or black tape, where the letters have been embossed onto the plastic strip.

The Dymo hand-held label maker has been around for more than half a century believe it or not. These little machines, whose alphabet wheel embosses letters onto self-adhesive tape have so many advantages over many other gadgets. For one there is no major financial outlay, and it is also very easy to use. No batteries to worry about, and also no electrical plug. The Dymo's attraction lies in its simplicity, low tech operation and it is just the tool to reach for when you want to create easy, no-fuss words or sentences in an instance.

The only issue I have had with my Dymo is running out of tape in the middle of a project, but even when that happens, you can come up with creative solutions to cover it up. My Dymo Labeler still works perfectly and is over thirty years old.

If you haven't tried using the Dymo Labeler for your Scrap Booking, try give it a go. You will probably find one lurking in the back of your grandmothers cupboard, or you could purchase one at your local stationery shop. Nowadays there is a wider variety of colored tapes available for the Dymo than their used to be.

Here are some good ways in which to use Dymo labels on your scrap booking pages:

1. Try have the labels popping out the sides of your photographs with imaginative wording on them.
2. Cut strips of white cardstock to the width of the tape and feed it into your labeler. Next ink the raised letters and the edges of the label. This works well to give a softer effect to your layout.
3. Try making patterns of dots, dashes and x's and use the strips to decorate your layout.
4. Wind thin gold or silver cord around your Dymo labels for an extra special effect.

I am sure that you will find a lot of different ways to use your Dymo Label maker, and you will find it a highly valuable addition to your scrapbook kit.
